Banqiao District 板橋區
Everyone visits Banqiao for the Lin Family Garden. Almost no one notices the vanished port beneath the pavement, the ghost of a private city wall in the street names, or the twenty-eight years the garden itself spent as a refugee slum. Five buried histories, and the pattern connecting all of them.
Banqiao, in other words, is not the story of a garden. It's a case study in how a place absorbs violence, resolves it through the deliberate use of geography, and then — with remarkable consistency — builds something beautiful directly on top of the wound and calls that beauty the whole story. This is a cluster node: not one single overwhelming site, but a tight constellation of five interlocking histories, each a local echo of the larger, unresolved drama of the Taipei Basin's settlement.
